Dominating Hong Kong's Rugby Scene with 16 Womens Premiership Championship Titles Since 1995, we wrap up season 2023/2024

In the competitive landscape of women's rugby, few teams have enjoyed the sustained success and dominance exhibited by the Societe Generale Valley RFC Women's Premiership team in Hong Kong.

Established in 1995, this formidable team has secured an impressive 16 championship titles, firmly establishing themselves as the premier force in Hong Kong women's rugby bagging their 16th Grand Championship title during the 2023/2024 Hong Kong China Rugby Season.

Coached this season by Kevin West and assisted by player coach Bella Milo, the team faced a tough start to the season, but peaked at the business end to secure the coveted trophy for the Club, defeating Hong Kong Football Club in the Finals 11-3.

Rosie Inglis had a barnstorming season and was voted Best Forward, whilst young upcoming Haruka Uematsu was voted Best Back. Both players have also been called up to represent Hong Kong in the International stage at 15’s and 7’s respectively this year and are players to watch out for in the years ahead.

Bella Milo was voted Players Player of the season, which is testament to her service and impact she has on this team. Bella has had a formidable season both in Hong Kong and internationally as she became Manusina's most capped international player, the National team for Samoa.

The Valley Reds also had an outstanding season themselves. Formed 10 years ago in 2014 by Valley stalwarts Adma Andrade and Jo Wilkinson the team won their first every trophy this season, by being crowned the Womens Championship League Division Winners. Coached by KK Wong, the Womens Championship League plays one league below the Womens Premiership and is a mixture of players new to the game and development players.

Valley legend and former Hong Kong representative Zein Williams came out of a long retirement (10+ years), dusted the boots off and put in thunderous season and was eventually voted Best Back proving she still has the goods. Hoi Lei Tsang firmly cemented her place as a player to watch out for as she outshone this season on the field and was voted the Best Forward for the team. Tsang also debuted for the Premiership team this season, clocking a number of games under her belt.

Angel Cheung, another young upcomer for the team and Hong Kong Rugby was voted Player’s Player of the season. With her weaving runs, she carved up many a backline this season.

Overall an outstanding season for the Womens Rugby section this year – thank you to all supporters, families and friends for getting right behind the team.
